SPATIALĀ UI MODULES

Extruding UI with depth is not enough to be considered XR-ready. We took a step further, conceptualizing how to take advantage of depth and proxemics to revolutionize the way we interact with UI and how they are visually presented. I was responsible for designing and prototyping some of these module interactions, how they behaved and animated.

A Prototype Home Space

Our prototypes were always placed in a void space. I had decided to design and create a better space, so that our user testers feel more relatable to the environment, and that our UI assets are well displayed. This also encourages user testers to naturally walk and get around objects in the space, rather than standing still all the time in the void.

Input Modalities

It's like inventing the next mouse cursor, but for VR. Input modalities are fun problems to solve, as they can be applied in any combination. Eyes-only, Eyes + Hands, Eyes + Voice, Hands-only, or all at once. And we're not just selecting one, since the system should support all combinations to give users the freedom to choose whichever they feel most comfortable and able.
